Another New Stamp Set & Technique!

Thanks to Melissa who recently motivated me to get back to personal stamping and updating my blog! Here's another card that I made at her house the other night. This card features another new set which will be in the upcoming catalog. Most of you should have received your preview brochure in the mail. This set, "Embrace Life" makes it's debut in the brochure!
I had a hard time capturing the true elegance of this card on camera. This set has a sort of Asian flare to it and is really beautiful. The flower image is stamped onto the right side of the card and shows up in white (much better in person). It's hard to see in this picture, but this VersaMark resist technique turns out great!
VersaMark Resist
Stamp image in VersaMark onto glossy cardstock
Dab sponge onto desired color of ink pad and dab onto glossy cardstock
I used 2 colors in coordinating tones on this card (lighter and darker)
Be careful not to rub over the versamark
The image that was stamped in VersaMark should pop out in white!

I love the size of this card! It's 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and fits in a standard envelope. Many of you have expressed interest in a technique class. I'm thinking that I will get one on the calendar for January, so watch for more info soon!
Card Recipe
Stamps: Embrace Life
Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Basic Black, Glossy White
Ink: Soft Sky, Sage Shadow, VersaMark, Basic Grey
Accessories: sponge, wide white organdy ribbon

New Sets + New Techniques!

This card features a brand new Hostess Level 3 set which will be in the new catalog! The set is called "Time Well Spent" and includes 12 double-lined images: flowers, a stem/leaf, a butterfly, heart, and 2 cute greetings. I made this card at my friend Melissa's house at a demonstrator meeting. She's the person who I signed up under when I became a demonstrator this past February. Anyway, she instructed us on how to use the wax crayon resist technique. It turned out really cool and was very simple! Give it a try:
Wax Crayon Resist Technique
Stamp double-lined image in black onto glossy cardstock
Use white crayon to color in spaces where you do not want color to show up
Dab a sponge onto colored ink pad and rub over entire piece of glossy cardstock
Use a tissue to wipe off white spaces (where you colored w/the crayon)
The small flower at the bottom of the card is stamped in black and the center is colored in using a white gel pen.

Stamps: Time Well Spent

Accessories: white crayon, sponge, tissue, white grosgrain ribbon, white gel pen

Loads of Love

Here's a cute card for my sister-in-law Amanda. She just moved into her first new apartment! I thought this card was perfect for her. This is the cutest set because it has lots of accessories which can be stamped in the back of the truck. And since it's not on the retiring list, we will see this one in the new catalog!
Recipe:
Paper: Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Whisper White, and DS "Flowers for You"
Ink: Basic Black & markers-Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, Pretty in Pink, Gable Green
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Orchid Opulence grosgrain ribbon
Stay tuned for an adorable Valentine's card featuring this set! That's a little inside info for the upcoming year for you! I will be having a Valentine's Card class where we will make super cute cards and a couple of gifts! You won't want to miss it!

M.I.A....yeah, that's me!

Yes, I've been Missing In Action! I apologize for not posting anything for SO LONG, to those of you who've been checking this blog. November was a crazy month! Thanks to the great response to the Merry & Bright card kits! I cut and prepared 22 kits in November! In addition to the craziness of the card kits, we've been passing around colds and the flu. And many of you have heard that we've got a new "bundle of joy" on the way! Yes, another blessing to our family is due to arrive around the first part of July! Therefore, I've been taking naps during any free-time I might have and going to bed early. So, my blog has definitely suffered. Well, hopefully I will be a little more motivated to keep it up and running and the new year approaches.
Along with the new year, I'm anticipating the new Stampin' Up! catalog! January 1st, the catalog will be posted on the SU website and I should have my copy by then. I will be ordering additional copies to sell to anyone who's interested. They're $5 each and packed full of new and excting products: stamps (of course), new paper, Simply Scrappin' kits, glitter, punches, and so much more! You will definitely want to purchase one from me! So stay tuned for more info and new ideas!
Well, thanks for your patience and thanks for stopping back by to read this! Feel free to post any comments or suggestions as new posts arise.
And have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
